Tenex Health TXTM, in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic, has developed a unique minimally invasive technology for those suffering from Chronic Tendon Disease. Scottsdale Liberty Hospital is one of the few facilities in the Phoenix Metropolitan area that is equipped to offer this procedure.
What is Tenex Health TX?
This technology offers a simple, non-surgical option to our patients. Tenex is a one-time procedure using ultrasonic guidance to identify and remove unhealthy tissue (often the primary source of pain).
How is this Procedure Performed?
Using ultrasound guidance, a trained physician will perform this procedure using a local anesthetic. A microincision will be created at the affected area and the diseased tissue will be broken down and removed, without affecting the healthy tissue.
This procedure is performed in an outpatient setting, allowing patients to go home directly afterward.
What are the Benefits?
The benefits of Tenex Health TX are extensive. The procedure is minimally invasive, typically complete within 20 minutes, provides rapid pain relief, and offers a quick recovery period. Additionally, patients are typically back to their normal everyday activities within 6 weeks or less.
Who is an Ideal Candidate?
Patients who suffer from chronic tendon pain in the plantar fascia, Achilles, shoulder, elbow, or knee and have tried and failed other conservative treatments may be candidates for the Tenex procedure.
